Soundhouse Arts is a full service architectural acoustical design firm specializing in recording studios, mastering houses, production suites and post-production facilities.

Our design approach stems from our study of the craft of music and the spacial requirements necessary to achieve great sound, feel, and results. There is no cookie-cutter approach to the creation of great rooms. All spaces are unique, and will require their own trajectory to achieve optimal results.

Architectural Acoustic Design Services

Step 1) Assessment and Concept Creation

The first step in the process is to get a read on objectives for the space and develop a concept design. In addition to concerns such as budget, it is important to address any specific sound isolation challenges from either inside or outside of your space. The concept needs to address the current requirements of your space, but also leave room to grow and evolve over time.

Step 2) Design Development

Upon approval of the concept design, the design development process involves the creation of a set of construction drawings and specifications. The approach is an integrated and comprehensive one. This is to say that different aspects of construction are inter-related, and all of the  building systems, including the sound isolation, sound-proofing, gear placement, technical  wiring, have to be coordinated with the standard trade work: framing, electrical, lighting,  mechanical, sheetrock, etc. With completion of this set of working drawings such as these, various contractors can be engaged for discussion and budgeting.

Step 3) Construction Drawings

At this third stage, drawings can be finalized for construction and will clearly communicate to the client and all contractors the construction objectives and the scope for which each is responsible. In addition to coordinating with contractors and trades prior to construction to insure that all plans and specifications are fully understood, the design team will be available to resolve any field issues as they may arise.

Additional services can be provided for enhanced visual presentations of rendered graphics and/or animated walk throughs. Technical consultation for complete equipment integration and layout, along with installation services can also be provided.
